Moment and Method is a group exhibition of Higher Degree Researchers from Queensland College of Art, held at Pop Gallery in Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley.
While not part of the Wild Remembering project, the work I included in this exhibition is again about connections through layering salvaged materials transforming them into monuments. Ive again used a large circular mirror representing a remembering and reflection on the materials and their old and new histories. David Gauntlett highlights the title of his book Making Is Connectingwhen he notes that making literally connects materials and ideas, it connects us with other people because there is often a social aspect to making, and that we engage with society and environments when sharing what we’ve made.
It includes work by Adam Anderson, Jennifer Andrews, Anthony Baker, Athene Currie, Deborah Eddy, Lucienne Fontannaz-Howard, Andrew Frost, Jacinta Giles, Susan Gourley, Michelle Mansford, Carol McGregor, Crisia Miroiu, Jason Murphy, Paula Payne, Tyza Steward, Karen Stone, Nina White and Sonia York-Price… and myself.
